My Photos

I have selected this photograph as this is the first thing you see when you come into the school so to show it off of the front page will show the readers the first insight to the school. I think this will attract people because it has the school badge on it and also tells you alot of information about the school itself.

This photo shows the enjoyable side to school. By this being in my magazine it shows people who are interested in performing arts that thier is a department for it and it will help to pull people in. The photographs with also show the reader what they do in this department. The words DANCE and DRAMA also stand out which will attract the reader.

This photograph shows a student working on thier work. I think this will work as it shows the facilites the school have to be getting on with thier work. I like the way she isnt facing the camera as this shows she is working. This will attarct the reader as they will see people working hard.

This shows a subject that is availble. I think this works as it is in the school colours which shows it represents the school and it also easily highlights the subject name, so if someone wants to look at the info about catering this will make them look at it. Here are some of my photographs I took for my school magazines the ones i have shown are the ones i think would work best with my magazine, but I still havent choosen my final photos which will appare on my magazine.

Audiences

To attract specific audiences you would put eye catching photographs which attracted the audience in. Also bright and bold colours for the fonts or banners would attract the audience’s eye.  The front cover has to be very eye catching as it is the first thing an audience will see. To improve my knowledge of what the audience would what to see has a front cover or what they want to see it look like I would ask the people this magazine appeals  to and get feedback for what they think would be suitable. The contents page would have to contain interest and exciting subjects that the audience would want to read with in the magazine. The audience I am focusing on is children so the magazine would have to be very colourful and exciting because this would be the kind of thing children would look for and be interested in.

School Magazine Research

Here are some is part of my research. I researched mostly school magazines but also rehearched some well known shop selling magazines. This helped me pick out what certain conventions done and made an effect on the magazine in itself.

G321 Foundation Portfolio Prelim Task

The brief we have been given is..

To design and create the front cover and the contents page for a school magazine aimed at pupils.

The task will include..

Designing and creating and front cover and contents for a school magazine, we will research school magazines and contents pages and analyse what the conventions of them are and wether they are bad or good. We will also rehearch the audience types and take a number of school photographs before we then go on to create our own school magazine.
